Lot 4427 17th CENTURY WALLOON HILTED MILITARY BROADSWORD.

Overall length 44" with a 37" double edge blade with short 7" fuller with armorers mark. The hilt consist of asymmetrical heart shaped guard with pierced plates, and thumb loop. The knuckle bow, inner and outer branches have a central fluted swell attached and are attached to the engraved drum pommel. The grip is missing its wrap. CONDITION: Metal surfaces have been cleaned. The blade has a rounded tip with some old pitting present and a few light dings. Grips have a few age cracks, scattered dings and handling marks. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Nicholas Apergis.
