Lot 4426 RARE EUROPEAN17th CENTURY SINCLAIR SABER.

This interesting saber is fitted with a 31.5" swelled tip (8") falchion style blade that has a single fuller extending from the swelled tip to the ricasso. The fuller transitions to a double fuller for the final 9". The blade is engraved with a cabalistic faced moon and sun with stars and "VIVA" on both sides and the armorers mark on both sides of the ricasso. The iron hilt has a 9.5" straight crossguard with flattened quillons, half-basket guard adorned with cut out cross design, thumb loop and intertwined iron bar sweeping serpentine knuckle guard with a similar flattened quillon pattern and double branching loop guard that transitions to hooked counter guard. It is capped with a low trapezoidal pommel with linear decorated accents. The grip is of a simulated wire wrap. CONDITION: Metal surfaces have a light grey cleaned patina with some small blade dings and light pits. There is a small wiggle to the guard.
