Lot 4424 NORTH ITALIAN OR EURPEAN 17th CENTURY SWEPT HILT
RAPIER. Overall length 46.5" with a 40.5" tapered diamond blade terminating with a 2.5" ricasso marked with a cross armorers mark. The guard comprises of double branching knuckle bow that attaches to the pommel and quillion block. The branches of the knuckle bow extend to the loop guard and counter guard which both attach to the side ring and flow into the arm branches. The arm branches attach to the upward sweeping crossguard with bulbous tip and knuckle bow. The grip has been re-wrapped with aged brass wire. CONDITION: The blade and guard have a lightly mottled dark patina. The blade shows some mild dings. Grip wrap shows minor carry wear.
