Lot 4415 SPANISH SWEPT HILT BROADSWORD.

Overall length is 48" with a 38.5" diamond shaped double edge blade with a 6.75" fuller. The knuckle bow begins at the faceted pear shaped pommel and double branches with large loops into the S shaped hilt with flattened stylized quillions. Double arms extend with concentric bar loop guard branches. The forward branches of the loop guard is filled with pierced double lobe plates. The piercings are stylized with two sizes in an alternating pattern. The guard finalizes with double side rings. The swelled grip lost its wire and a carving was added to the remaining walnut grip. CONDITION: Metal surfaces have a dark patina. Blade has a good edge with a slightly rounded tip. Grips show some minor dents and scratches.
