SWORD.This high grade 18th Century small sword measures 35 3/4" overall with a 29 1/2" six sided blade. The blade exhibits a short 4" central fuller with the valley showing etching on a gilded field with four inset beads resembling red coral. Gilded brass hilt with a boat shaped guard featuring flourishes above and below. Short pas d'ane. The cross guard has decorated quillons. The knuckle bow as well as the globular pommel mirror the decoration on the guard. The matching gilded grip is decorated with a swirl motif. (02-25838/BF). NON-GUN. $1,200-1,800.
