Lot 4343 PAIR OF EUROPEAN FOLDING TRIGGER PERCUSSION
PISTOLS. Cal. 45. NSN. Bbls. 3 1/8". Pair of European folding trigger percussion pistols produced by an unknown mfg. Underside of 1 pistol is marked "./ 3" on the bbl. and frame, with "./ 4" marked on the underside of the other. The sides of the frames exhibit a floral motif, with additional decorative engraving present on and around the folding triggers. Bbls. feature faceted breeches, transitioning at a studded band to a rnd. contour, and terminating in distinctive "blunderbuss" style flares at the muzzles. 1-piece grooved wood stocks feature light relief carved foliate designs on stock "ears". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: contemporary wood display case with black felt lining. CONDITION: pistols have acquired a mottled gray patina, showing some spots/patches of light to mild pitting and age related discoloration. Both pistols function appropriately when cycled by hand. Stocks show some scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sound. "./ 4" marked pistol's stock exhibits a crack on the right side stemming from the frame tang.
