Lot 4335 SPANISH "1751" DATED PERCUSSION CONVERSION HORSE

PISTOL. Cal. 62. NSN. Bbl. 11 7/8". Spanish percussion conversion pistol mfg. in Madrid, Spain. Lock is engraved with a panoply of arms above "FRAN, CO BIS, EN MAD". Octagonal bbl., transitions into a 1 1/8" multi-faceted section, followed by 2 bands, which then transitions into a rnd. bbl., terminating in cannon style muzzle. Bbl. features floral pattern engraving at the octagonal breech and multi-faceted section, with additional floral/foliate scrollwork present on the hammer, bbl. tang, sideplate, pommel cap, and screws. Left quarter flat of the breech is engraved "FRAN" "CO" "BIS", with "ANO 1751" engraved on the top flat, and "EN MADRID" on the right quarter flat. 1-piece wood stock with iron ramrod pipe and floral engraved iron bbl. band. Hardwood and natural white tipped ramrod. CONDITION: metal components exhibit a mottled gray/brown patina, exhibiting some light to mild pitting and dark surface oxidation. Pommel cap and trigger guard exhibit a dark gray patina. Proper manual mechanics, with stiff hammer pull. Stock shows numerous scattered handling marks and impressions, with chipping present along the bbl. channel, lockplate, sideplate, and pommel cap. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Nicholas Apergis.
