Cal. 72. S# NSN. The 7-3/4" half round half octagon barrel transitions through relief engraved wedding band and has cannon turned muzzle. Rear of top flat has silver inlaid scroll and gold poincon is marked "GA" "BIO" "LA" (Domingo Gabiola working in Eibar 1700-50). Touchhole is gold lined. Miquelet lock with external main spring has fine relief carved cock and frizzen has feather spring housed in bottom of pan. Gabiola poincon is behind pan. Stock with squared fishtail butt extends to cannon turning at muzzle and is pinned to barrel. Fine raised carved mouldings with foliate finials surround all elements. Steel furniture includes small buttplate with foliate finial, trigger guard with foliate engraving on bow has matching finial, long sideplate with scroll engraving is fitted with 5" belt hook having pieced heart at tip. Walnut ramrod with turned steel tip mounts through beaded steel pipe and matching thimble. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: photocopy of auction listing where this gun sold for 2,400 Euros. CONDITION: fine, but showing extensive correctly done repolish of metal which is presently silver to silver gray. Stock with light oil finish over many marks has some replaced wood on left barrel channel and has some repaired cracks in butt. Very fine carving remains sharp. Bore is bright. Lock works.
