PARLOR PISTOL. Cal. 22 RF. NSN. Bbl. 9 1/16". Single shot breechloading parlor pistol mfg. in Paris, France by H. Fraure LePage. The top flat of the octagonal heavy bbl. is marked "H. Fraure LePage a Paris" towards the center. Lower left quarter flat is marked "G. MARRIETE" beneath the woodline, indicating mfg. by Guillaume Marriete. Quarter flats of the bbl. exhibit light scroll engraving, with additional scrollwork present fore and aft of the rear sight. Complimentary scrollwork is present on the receiver tang, trigger guard, and trigger guard bow, with a wavy line pattern engraved on the rear strap of the hammer, as well as along the edges of the oblong studded pommel cap. Screws are engraved with floral motifs. Forward face of hammer and trigger guard finger curl feature a knurled panel. Hammer, receiver tang, trigger guard, and pommel cap exhibit a case colored finish, with the bbl. exhibiting a blue finish. Trigger exhibits a nitre blue finish. 1-piece checkered wood stock. Dovetailed blade front sight and V-notch rear sight. CONDITION: receiver and pommel cap retain good amounts of their original case colored finish, showing some areas of wear that have faded to gray patina, with some scattered spots of light pitting. Rear edge of pommel cap exhibits a patch of dark moderate oxidation. Trigger guard and hammer have largely faded to gray, retaining fair amounts of original case coloring in protected areas, with some scattered spots of light pitting and age related discoloration. Bbl. retains large amounts of its original blue finish, showing edge wear, scattered patches of wear fading to gray patina, superficial handling marks, scattered spots of surface oxidation, as well as a few patches of light to mild pitting. Trigger has faded to gray in contact areas. Very bright bore, exhibiting some small scattered spots of light to mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood stock shows numerous scattered superficial marks and impressions, with a small gouge present on the left side of the forearm, as well as a larger gouge on the left side towards the center of the checkered panel.
