Lot 4325 PAIR OF BELGIAN SPRING BAYONET PERCUSSION BOXLOCK
POCKET PISTOLS. Cal. 50. S# NSN. 9" overall. The 4-1/4" octagon barrels are fitted with spring loaded triangular bayonets with 3" blades which pivot in housings at muzzles. Barrels are permanently screwed to boxlock percussion actions with sliding trigger guards acting as catches holding bayonets in folded position. Actions are engraved with some scrolls and floral motifs. Belgian proofs are on bottoms. Checkered walnut bag grips have shell carved side panels. CONDITION: very good to fine as professionally repolished. It appears pistols were originally bright polished. Some of this remains in protected areas. Recent polish is not as bright as original. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanically crisp. Stocks have some marks and dings. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Nicholas Apergis. (01-27442/MGM). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,000.
