CALVERT OF LONDON (?). Cal. 60. S# NSN. The 9" half octagon half round barrel has some scroll engraving and Birmingham proofs. Lock with chamfered plate and rebated tail is fitted with serpentine cock, integral rounded pan, bridled roller frizzen with large roller on feather spring having bulbous finial. European walnut stock with chamfered bird's head grip extends to muzzle and is pinned to barrel. Silver mounts are not hallmarked and include double beaded trigger guard with acorn finial and sideplate with small oval extension at bottom engraved "Calvert" "London". Newer hickory ramrod mounts through beaded silver pipe and matching thimble. CONDITION: good. Iron and steel parts cleaned and re-colored with some remaining light pitting. Stock with renewed finish has some minor marks. Silver is moderately rubbed. Bore is dark and pitted. Lock is good. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Nicholas Apergis. (01-27418/MGM).
