^Lot 4277 US M1839 ARTILLERY "US" WHITE BUFF BELT & BUCKLE.

A good early example of a US M1839 white buff belt with the M1839 "US" Artillery style interlocking 2-piece buckle. The belt is complete with the white buff sword hanger for the US M1832 Artillery short sword. CONDITION: buckle has a wonderful rich patina with no flaws or damage. The belt has, of course, darkened with age but remains solid and reasonably pliable. There are two early sewn leather repairs to the belt that add to its charm and attest to its long useful life. There appears to be a little area of mouse damage on the top of the belt. (02-26073/BF). NON-GUN. $500-800.
