Cal. 15mm Pinfire. S# 167. Bbl. 7 5/8". SxS break action pinfire howdah pistol produced in Belgium by an unknown mfg. Rear face of bbls. and left side of frame exhibit Belgian proofing. Sides of the frame feature panels of foliate scrollwork, with decorative intertwining line and foliate motifs engraved on the rear grip strap, trigger guard bow, and bbl. lever. Metal components exhibit a nickel plated finish overall. 1-piece grooved wood grip with faceted pommel terminating in a lanyard stud and ring. Cone style front sight with V-notch rear sight. Dual triggers consisting of 1 straight and 1 curved trigger, with 1-piece trigger guard fingering a finger curl at the rear of the bow. CONDITION: metal components retain good to large amounts of their nickel plated finish, showing areas of wear and flaking that show through to a gray patina. Mirror bores, exhibiting a few dings and a couple of small spots of light pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grip shows scattered superficial handling marks, as well as flaking to its varnish finish, with an apparent repaired chip present at the rear of the upper frame tang.
