.22 RF PISTOL WITH CASE & ACCESSORIES. Cal. 22 RF. S# 60216. Bbl. 6". Tranter patent single shot break action pistol mfg. by W.H. Monks of Chester, England. The top of the bbl. is engraved "W.H. MONKS CHESTER", with 3 British proofs marked on the right quarter flat towards the breech. Left side of frame is marked "W. TRANTERS/ PATENT" above the S# "60216". Sides of frame exhibit double line border engraving, with a single floral motif on the left, and 2 floral motifs on the right. Right side of frame and underside of bbl. are marked with a crowned Birmingham special definitive proof. Bbl. exhibits a blue finish. 1-piece wood grip featuring a single panel of wrap around checkering and a plain oval steel pommel cap. Fixed blade front sight with dovetailed V-notch rear sight. Bbl. has been sleeved to .22 RF. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: contemporary wood display case featuring a red velour interior, containing 1 contemporary plastic container of .22 caliber CB type ammunition, 1 tin of patches, a contemporary cleaning rod with threaded wood handle, as well as a case key. CONDITION: frame has faded to a dull mottled gray patina, showing scattered superficial handling marks, age related discoloration, and some light pitting overall. Bbl. retains large amounts of its original blue finish, showing mild wear (primarily on edges), scattered handling marks, as well as scattered spots of light surface oxidation. Mirror bore, exhibiting some spots of light pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grip shows mild smoothing and some scattered superficial marks and minor impressions, but otherwise remains sound. Case is very good, some with superficial handling marks to exterior. (01-28009/MLW).
