Cal. 36. S# 26244. Standard configuration of 2nd model, 5th type solid frame revolver, 7.5" octagonal barrel stamped on "E. WHITNEY / N HAVEN" and an "anchor" abutting cylinder showing US Navy inspection. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: small file of Whitney navy research including pages from "CIVIL WAR SMALL ARMS of the US NAVY" listed this revolver as being inspected Dec. 8, 1864 at Washington Navy Yard. CONDITION: very good overall. No finish, mottled gray patina, crisp markings, matching, and complete, mechanics are fine, crisp 7 land & groove rifled bore.
