REVOLVER & HOLSTER. Cal. 44. S# S 8653. Standard configuration of Model 1861 "Old Model" Army single action percussion revolver, 8" octagonal barrel with 2-line address "PATENTED DEC 17, 1861 / MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTONS' ILION N.Y.", brass trigger guard and German silver cone front sight. Accompanying military flap holster fits well. CONDITION: good overall, cylinder has mismatched S# D 581, replaced loading leaver pivot screw and grip screw, no finish, iron patina, discernible address and sub-inspector initials "PS" on barrel & frame. Grips have no discernible inspection marks, chipped toes, moderate edge wear. Mechanically cocks, but cylinder will not lock in place, work pitted rifled bore. Holster is fair, solid & supple, no finish, missing belt loop, closure tab is torn. (01-28298/JS). ANTIQUE. $1,000-1,200.
