^Lot 4102 FANTASY CUSTOM CASED & ENGRAVED COLT 1862 LONDON

POCKET NAVY REVOLVER. Cal. 36. S# 7. This is an anomaly of standard production 1862 pocket navy with 2-line London address, custom English style light scroll engraving and re-numbered "7" throughout. The few rare known London 1862s are in 5-digit range and they are London proofed. This revolver has no London black powder proofs, so it makes little sense as to the configuration. It does however present beautifully. Accompanying Colt red baize lined walnut case is compartmented for pistol, brass bag flask, reblued "COLTS PATENT" 2 cavity mold, and large ELEY-LONDON cap tin. CONDITION: excellent as customized, retains almost all of the new bright blue and case color finish. Backstrap and trigger guard retain about 80-90% patinaed silver wash. Mechanics are fine, crisp rifled bore with pitting. Case is very good. (01-26734/JS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,500.
