Lot 4096 COLT CIVILIAN MODEL 1860 ARMY REVOLVER WITH

ORIGINAL COLT IVORY GRIPS. Cal. 44. S# 193700. Revolver is in standard configuration, 8" barrel with one line New York USA address, one of 15 shipped to Schuyler, Hartley & Graham on 9/20/1873. Colt was altering revolvers in this serial range to cartridge, percussion revolvers in this range are rarer than cartridge alterations. Ivory grips on this revolver are original Colt, with screwed wood block construction. CONDITION: very good overall, good markings, complete and original, matching S#s other than original Colt wedge numbered 9248, barrel retains about 10% bright blue in protected areas, traces blue on rebated area of cylinder, traces muted case color on frame, cylinder has good rolled naval battle scene with patch of pitting. Original Colt grips have toned patina, partial number inked does not match revolver. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Norm Greenberg Collection. (01-27670/JS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,500.
