Cal. 44. S#. 111352. Bbl. 8" round with New York address and blade front sight. Round rebated 6 shot cylinder has Texas Naval Scene roll engraving. Frame is cut for shoulder stock attachment. Original finish was blue with case colored frame and loading lever. Silver finished brass trigger guard. Frame, bbl., trigger guard, back strap, cyl. and wedge have matching S#. Left side bbl. has inspector initial "GG". Trigger guard has inspector initial "D". One piece walnut grip, right side has an illegible cartouche. Left side has an "RAC" cartouche referring to Rinaldo A. Carr. UNATTACHED ACCESORIES: Colt Archive Properties letter stating the following: "Serial number: 111352, Caliber: .44/c, Barrel Length: 8", Finish: Blue, Type of Stocks: Wood, Sold To: United States Government, Shipped To: Commanding Officer New York Arsenal, Address: Governor's Island New York, Date of Shipment: April 18, 1863, Number of Same Type Guns in Shipment: 1,000". CONDITION: metal finish has faded to gray showing spots of light pitting. Cylinder retains 50% lightly visible scene. Brass trigger guard shows only faint traces of silver. Grips show wear & handling marks. Tight action. The bore is generally bright with strong rifling showing spots of very light pitting. (01-28474/DS). ANTIQUE. $2,200-2,600.
