Lot 4089 CIVIL WAR COLT MODEL 1860 FLUTED ARMY REVOLVER.

Cal. .44. S# 2139. Colt's new model army revolver was made to replace the heavier dragoon and was made concurrently in this serial range with the last dragoons in 1860. This revolver was shipped to Ohio governor, June 14, 1861. Standard configuration 4 screw frame made for shoulder stock & fluted cylinder, blue and case color finish, silver plated brass grip frame, varnished walnut grips. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Colt archives letter. CONDITION: very good overall, "as found", all matching serial numbers including wedge, complete & original, full front sight, good markings, strong traces of bright blue finish in protected areas, overall mottled plum/gray patina, grips are sound, well fit retaining 80-90% original factory varnish.
