Lot 4082 FINE COLT MODEL 1851 HARTFORD-LONDON NAVY
REVOLVER. Cal. 36. S# 42238. Standard configuration, steel back strap & trigger guard, 7.5" octagonal barrel marked "ADDRESS COL. COLT LONDON" with dashes, small brass cone shaped bead sight, 6-shot cylinder with rolled naval battle scene, varnished walnut grips. Revolver is blued and case hardened, British proofs on frame and each cylinder chamber. Manufactured 1856, most likely shipped to US in 1860-1861 prior to the Civil War. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: reproduction Colt casing, Colt 2-cavity mold, Dixson bag flask, cap tin with reproduction label. CONDITION: revolver is fine, retaining about 90% bright factory blue, cylinder has good cylinder scene with traces of blue. Frame, loading assembly, and hammer retain thin muted case colors, grips retain 90% original bright factory varnish with several scuffs. Crisp mechanics, very good rifled bore.
