REVOLVER. Cal. 31. S# 3309. Components have been remarked with overstamped S#s at the time of restoration. Standard configuration 4" barrel model 1849 with two line Colt London address, British proofs on barrel lug and each chamber of cylinder. Revolver has been custom engraved with fanciful inscription on backstrap and plaque in original London casing. CONDITION: fine overall as customized with scroll engraving, fake Confederate inscription, and silver plating. The gun appears all original otherwise. Revolver retains most all of its modern silver plating Stocks retain most of their varnish with moderate edge wear, mechanically fine crisp rifled bore. Original English casing has worn and stained red baize lining, Bag flask retains much original finish and varnish, "COLTS PATENT" two cavity mold has bent sprue cutter, combination nipple wrench/screwdriver is very good as is iron cleaning rod, and ELEY-LONDON cap tin.
