Lot 4065 ENGRAVED BREVET COLT PATERSON REVOLVER WITH IVORY

GRIPS. Cal. 31. S# 14. 5.5" octagonal barrel, address "Patent Arms Mg. Co. Paterson NJ-Colt's Pt", 5-shot cylinder with "COLT" centaur rolled scene. Matching S# 14 observed on cylinder, arbor, and frame. Unlike original Paterson design, no rotating cylinder ring. Thin scroll engraved, carved flared grips made with wood block. Revolver is accompanied by unmarked brass cylindrical Paterson style powder flask. CONDITION: good to very good overall, appears original & matching with refitting and filing at frame to barrel face, wedge is numbered 333 and too small, folding trigger appears to be old restoration. Revolver cocks fine, but cylinder advances short of next nipple, smooth clear bore. Accompanying flask is very good with functional plunger. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Norm Greenberg Collection.
