Standard configuration Richmond Armory rifle, 40" barrel, correct style rear leaf sight, Richmond brass butt plate, brass nose cap, original swell 1855 style ramrod, "1863" barrel date & "VP" & eagle head proof are not Richmond, lock is dated "1863" at tail & "C.S. / RICHMOND, VA" forward of hammer. CONDITION: very good overall, strong mechanics, good rifled bore, stock has 2 federal cartouches, one over-stamped "68 VA". PROVENANCE: Bob Allispones estate collection. (01-28685/JS).
