Cal. 58. NSN. This is a superior example of Richmond Armory muzzle loading carbine. Standard configuration, 25" barrel, unique pinched front sight, adjustable rear carbine sight, brass buttplate & nose cap. Both barrel bands have characteristic Richmond style "U" stamped near center of band. Ramrod is original Richmond made tapered style, and unique Richmond set 3 sling swivels. Original Confederate canvas sling is attached. CONDITION: very good overall, shows honest use. All original & matching, rear sight is original replacement better than balance of carbine, mottled gray iron patina, brass has smooth dark mustard patina, stock is sound with hand worn patina. Large sliver between lock and tang missing and well patinaed over. mechanics fine, good dark rifled bore. Accompanying sling is matching good condition. PROVENANCE: Bob Alispones estate collection.
