CT MODEL REVOLVER. Cal. 44-40. S# SA6222. Bbl. 7 1/2". Single Action Army Hartford CT Model revolver mfg. in Italy by ASM (Armi San Marco) and imported by EMF. Left side of the bbl. is marked "SINGLE ACTION ARMY .44-40", with "HARTFORD CT MODEL" marked on the top towards the breech. Underside of the bbl. is marked "ASM ITALY (STAR) EMF S.A. CAL (STAR)". Left side of the frame is marked with Colt's 2-line patent information, with Italian proofs and "CAT. 5562" marked above the S#. Frame, loading gate, and hammer exhibit a case colored finish, with remaining metal components exhibiting a blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt pattern checkered black synthetic grips. Standard SAA pattern blade front sight and frame notched rear sight. Matching S#s are present on the frame and rear grip strap (right side beneath grip panel. Trigger guard is marked "0920" beneath the left grip panel. CONDITION: frame, loading gate, and hammer retain the majority of their vibrant case colored finish, showing light to mild fading along some edges. Blued parts are excellent overall. Bright bore, exhibiting some light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips are very good overall. (25-5775/MLW). MODERN. $500-1,000.
