FLINTLOCK PISTOL. Cal. 44. S# PD15407. Bbl. 10 1/16". Reproduction H.W. Mortimer & Son flintlock pistol mfg. in Italy by Pedersoli in 2000. Lockplate is marked "H.W./ MORTIMER/ & SON". Top flat of the octagonal bbl. is marked "H.W. MORTIMER & SON LONDON/ GUN MAKERS TO HIS MAJESTY", with Italian proofs, the S#, the Pedersoli logo, and cal. designation marked on the left quarter flat. Lockplate, bbl., forward ramrod pipe, trigger guard, and pommel cap are polished in-the-white. Nose cap, rear ramrod pipe, and bbl. tang exhibit a case colored finish. 1-piece single wedge fastened saw grip stock, with unengraved trigger guard featuring a pineapple finial and finger curl. Top strap of stock and bbl. tang are grooved to the rear sight. Horn tipped wood ramrod. Dovetailed blade front sight with integral V-notch rear sight on tang. Set trigger. CONDITION: excellent, with metal components retaining a bright in-the-white appearance overall. Case colored parts retain the vast majority of their original finish. Proper manual mechanics, with hammer only locking in the rearmost position when set trigger is engaged. Extremely light and crisp trigger pull. Stock shows some light superficial handling marks, but otherwise remains very good to excellent overall. (01-27989/MLW). ANTIQUE. $300-500.
