Cal. 43 Spanish. NSN. Bbl. 33". Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight with faint graduations. Lower swivel plate marked "CONN 199" denoting issue by Connecticut state militia. Only 2000 Peabody rifles were made for Connecticut. Rear of bbl. marked "EE (Five pointed star) P. Left side of action has Peadbody's Patent markings. Walnut stock set with silver disc numbered "57" on top of wrist. Ramrod present. CONDITION: refinished stock has added varnish with some dings, chips, scattered handling marks & scratches. Metal has a cleaned light-gray appearance with scattered pitting, areas of varnish overrun, handling marks, oxidation staining & traces of finish. Action functions properly when hand cycled.
