Lot 3515 EXCELLENT NEW MODEL 1863 SHARPS CARBINE METALLIC

CARTRIDGE CONVERSION. Cal. 50-70. S# 74838. Standard configuration, 22" relined 3 land & groove barrel, Lawrence patent rear sight & German silver blade front sight in square block. Breech block converted to center fire. Sharps patent markings from before conversion stamped on lock. This is very attractive survivor of both the Civil War and Indian Wars rarely seen with such high condition. CONDITION: fine to excellent overall, barrel retains 95%+ original blue, frame & lock retain about half of their bright case colors, toned silver/gray balance. Stocks sound with crisp "DFC" cartouche, mechanics fine, bright shiny rifled bore. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of John "Jack" Dhooghe. (01-28231/JS). ANTIQUE. $3,000-4,000.
