ENGRAVED MERWIN & HULBERT LARGE FRAME SA REVOLVER. Cal. 44-40. S# 5126. Bbl. 3 1/2" with integral blade front sight. 6 Shot fluted cyl. with "skullcrusher" grip. Revolver features Merwin & Hulbert's unique full coverage floral engraving. Left side of frame has encircled dog's head. Bottom right of grip stamped "S" for Stembridge Gun Rentals. Left side of frame marked "CALIBRE / WINCHESTER 1873". Revolver stocked with 2 piece checkered hard rubber bird's head grips. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brass tag marked "No 5126 / BLANKS ONLY / STEMBRIDGE". CONDITION: metal parts retain 20% original flaking nickel finish with balance turning patina. Sound grips are worn and turning brown with age. Bore has frosted appearance with light pitting but retains strong rifling.PROVENANCE: From the Buckstix Collection. (01-28591/BH).
