Cal. 44-40. NSN. Bbl. 7 1/2" rnd. with semi-circular blade front sight and distinctive webbed ejector housing. Bottom of ejector housing have 4 intentionally cut "kill notches". 6-shot fluted cyl. Full nickel finish. 2-piece walnut grips have added diamond shaped inserts with raised letter "F" against engraved backgrounds. Butt of gun has a replacement blued lanyard stud. Cyl. is marked with assembly # "653". Inside of grip frame has probable assembly # "1019". Estimated 25,000-30,000 mfg. 1875-1889. CONDITION: 90% original nickel finish showing scattered spots of corrosion and finish loss with light dents and handling marks. Refinished grips show wear and handling marks. Sound action.
