Lot 3440 MAYNARD NO. 16 IMPROVED SINGLE SHOT TARGET RIFLE.
Cal 25-20 Single Shot. S# 13035. Bbl 28" round with gap at the breech. Breech end of bbl is relined and rechambered for the 25-20 SS cartridge. Right side of action has three line Mass Arms marking over Model 1882. Left side of receiver has Edward Maynard patent marking followed by 1873 Model marking. Left side of bbl lug has handstamped "25-20 SS" marking. Malcolm 18 1/4" target scope with external adjustments and standard crosshairs mounted on bbl blocks. Muzzle end of bbl has open sight dovetail. Top tang is fitted with a vernier sight having a large disk aperture. Blue finished bbl with case colored action. Schnable tipped forearm and pistol grip stock of fancy walnut with hand checkering. LOP: 13 1/4" to a nickel finished Schutzen buttplate. CONDITION: over 90% bbl blue showing slight edge wear. Action retains 70% lightly faded case colors. Forearm apparently has original gloss finish showing scratches and marks. Refinished stock has a good satin finish. Sound mechanics. Bore is bright with moderately worn rifling. Scope has clear optics. (01-28668/DS). ANTIQUE. $2,000-3,000.
