SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. Cal. 44-77. S#. 3334 found under forend. Bbl. 33" octagon measures 7/8" across flats at the muzzle. Bottom flat is marked "44 CTGE S". Globe front with Vernier tang sight. Blued bbl. with case colored action. Steel tipped forend and checkered pistol grip walnut stock with steel shotgun buttplate. Weight 9lbs. 9.8oz. Mfg., 1875-1890. CONDITION: barrel retains 70% lightly faded blue showing spotted light pitting. The action shows some light & faded case colors. Wood shows light wear & handling marks. The top of the comb has a 4" section of replacement wood with holes for sight attachment. Sound action. Bright bore retains sound rifling. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Norm Greenberg Collection.
