STEVENS TUBE SCOPE. Cal. 25.21 (25-21 Stevens). S# 955. Mfg. 1903-1916. Half rnd., half oct. 26" barrel. Stevens Tube Scope S# 470 w/ fine crosshairs, external adj. scope base on scope blocks measuring 7" from center. Case colored receiver w/ opening lever having finger curl & walnut grip panels. Walnut stock set w/ crescent buttplate. CONDITION: over 75% original barrel blue showing brown patina mixed throughout along with scattered marks & scratches. Receiver has fair muted case colors with spots of varnish, peppery oxidation & scratches. Lightly sanded & refinished wood shows numerous dings & scratches. Good rifling with wear to lands & residue in front of chamber. Fair blue on exterior of scope with cloudy optics & dust on crosshairs. PROVENANCE: Estate of Groves Herrick. (25-6735/MD).
