Lot consists of 2 Colt Aircrewman factory rolls dies, including: 1) Aircrewman factory roll die marked "AIRCREWMAN/ .38 SPECIAL CTG." twice along the edge. Top of die is marked "T-15415" and "industrial/ ENGRAVERS INC./ 2855", with "1" and "2" applied at corresponding roll stamp areas. 2) Colt Aircrewman factory roll die marked "PROPERTY OF U.S. AIR FORCE" twice along the edge. Top of die is marked "T-15416" above "industrial/ ENGRAVERS INC./ 2856", with "1" and "2" applied at corresponding roll stamp areas. CONDITION: dies exhibit a dark mellow gray patina, with some scattered spots of age related discoloration. Roll stamp markings and roll die mfg. markings remain clear and sharp. Only approx. 1,189 Aircrewman revolvers were mfg. by Colt between 1951-1952, with the majority being destroyed by the U.S. Air Force due to the risk of an operator firing standard pressure .38 Special ammunition.
