BUNTLINE COMMERORATIVE NEW FRONTIER SINGLE ACTION ARMY COMMEMORATIVE REVOLVER WITH DISPLAY CASE. Cal. 45 Colt. S# NB2611. Bbl. 12". 1 of only 3,000 New Frontier Single Action Army Ned Buntline commemorative revolvers mfg. by Colt circa. 1979. The left side of the bbl. is marked "NED BUNTLINE COMMEMORATIVE", with Colt's single line address marked across the top, and "COLT NEW FRONTIER S.A.A. .45" marked on the right. Left side of the frame is marked with Colt's 2-line patent information, followed by the Rampant Colt logo. Metal components exhibit a lustrous polished nickel plated finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt checkered black synthetic grips. High profile ramped blade front sight with adj. square notch rear sight on the flat top frame. Matching assembly # "3620" is present on the frame, cyl., and grip straps, and are also lightly etched on the interior of the grip panels. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: wood Abercombie & Fitch style presentation / display case, featuring a red felt French fitted lining and a plaque engraved with E.Z.C. Judson's and Ned Buntline's signatures. Case contains 6 nickel plated .45 Colt dummy cartridges, case key, and a page from November 1979 issue Arms Gazette featuring an advertisement of this revolver. CONDITION: near new, with metal components retaining virtually all of their bright original factory nickel plated finish overall. Cyl. bears no dragline. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Action has not been checked due to hammer being zip tied, but is presumed to be fine. Grips are excellent overall. Case shows a few superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains very good overall. A rare and attractive Colt Ned Buntline commemorative New Frontier SAA.
