CUSTOM SHOP SINGLE ACTION ARMY SHERIFF'S MODEL REVOLVER WITH MATCHING FACTORY BOX. Cal. 45 Colt. S# SA69479. Bbl. 3". Black powder frame Single Action Army Sheriff's Model revolver mfg. at the Colt Custom Shop in 1985. Left side of the bbl. is marked "COLT SHERIFF'S MODEL", with Colt's 2-line address marked across the top, and "COLT S.A.A. 45 CAL" marked on the right. Left side of the frame is marked with Colt's 3-line patent information. Frame and loading gate exhibit a case colored finish, with the cyl. and bbl. exhibiting a blue finish. Trigger guard and back strap exhibit a lustrous high polish blue finish. Top strap of the hammer is blued, with the sides having been polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt silver medallion plain natural white grips. Standard SAA pattern blade front sight and frame notched rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, cyl., as well as on the grip straps (left side, beneath grip panel). Grips are matching via a handwritten "69479" in black marker. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: matching factory wood grain box containing styrofoam insert and factory paperwork. End label is marked "MODEL "P2830MN CS# 2723/ SERIAL NUMBER SA69479/ DESCRIPTION S.A.A. Sheriff/ With Ivory Stocks/ 12 OF 15". CONDITION: near excellent, with the frame and loading gate retaining the majority of their vibrant factory case colored finish, showing a couple of spots of fading and discoloration. Blued parts are excellent overall. Cyl. exhibits no dragline. Sides of hammer exhibit small scattered scratches. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show few light superficial handling marks. Box is in poor condition, exhibiting numerous taped repairs, tears, and creases, with the end label flap having torn off. A very attractive Third Generation Single Action Army Sheriff's Model from Colt's custom shop. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Norm Greenberg Collection. (25-4152/MLW). MODERN. $2,000-3,000.
