Lot 3408 DOCUMENTED SPECIAL ORDER FACTORY ENGRAVED

PRESENTATION 3RD GEN 3 1/2" SAA REVOLVER TO U.S. WILDERNESS RANGER JOHN D. DAY. Cal 38 WCF. S# S05394A. Bbl. special order 3 1/2" with ejector and blade front sight. John D. Day was the first U.S. Wilderness Ranger from 1994-1999 in Pine Valley, UT. This revolver was presented to him by John Maxwell in 1995 and carried by him during his duty as a Wilderness Ranger. Revolver is pictured in an included copy of "Wilderness Ranger" by John Denton Day on pages 193 & 195. Revolver features Class "C" standard American scroll engraving by Colt Master Engraver Jan Gwinnell. Custom inscriptions include "U.S.D.A." on right side of frame, "1994-" on bottom of trigger guard, "FIRST U.S. WILDERNESS RANGER" on bottom of butt, script "John D. Day" on backstrap, "U.S. FOREST SERVICE" on right side of bbl. & "PINE VALLEY DIST." on top of ejector housing. Case hardened frame with balance of parts blued. Hammer sides polished bright. Revolver is stocked with 1 piece certifiable antique Colt ivory grip. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: copy of "Wilderness Ranger" by John Day which is a copy of Day's Journal entries during his time as a Wilderness Ranger with entries from April, 1994 to October, 1999. Forest Reserve Ranger badge formerly belonging to Day. Original Colt Custom Shop Factoy box & shipping sleeve.
