SESQUICENTENNIAL REVOLVER WITH DISPLAY CASE. Cal. 45. S# TX0746. Bbl. 4". Single Action Army Sheriff's Model Texas Sesquicentennial revolver mfg. by Colt in 1986. Bbl. features a single gold band at the breech and muzzle, with "Texas Sesquicentennial/ 1836-1986", followed by an outline of the state of Texas in gold on the left, with a scene of 3 steer and a cowboy marked on the right. Left side of the black powder frame is marked with Colt's 3-line patent information. Cyl. is marked with the Texas flag and state seal in gold. Top of rear grip strap is features the Alamo Mission in gold above "COME AND TAKE IT" in gold characters. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the sides of the hammer, which are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece plain natural white grips. Standard SAA pattern blade front sight with square frame notched rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, cyl., bbl., as well as the grip straps (beneath left grip panel). Grips are matching via "0746" which is handwritten on the interior of the panels. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: wood commemorative display case featuring a red felt lined interior and commemorative plaque. CONDITION: fine, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory blue finish overall. Cyl. exhibits no dragline. Sides of hammer (particularly the left side) exhibit small scattered spots of light surface oxidation, with the right side exhibiting some striations from prior cleaning. Mirror bore, exhibiting some hardened grease while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics (with cyl. removed to preserve condition). Grips show a faint yellow tinged patina, with a few light superficial handling marks present overall. Case shows scattered scratches and superficial handling marks, but otherwise remains sound.
