Lot 3399 ATTRACTIVE COWBOY ACTION TUNED FIRST YEAR SECOND
GENERATION COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 45 Colt. S# 3455SA. Bbl. 7 7/16". Second Generation Single Action Army revolver mfg. by Colt in 1956 (first year of second generation production). The left side of the bbl. is marked "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45", with Colt's single line address marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with Colt's 2-line patent information, followed by the Rampant Colt logo. Frame and loading gate exhibit a case colored finish, with remaining metal components exhibiting a blue finish. Sides of hammer are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece plain wood aftermarket grips. Standard SAA pattern blade front sight and frame square notched rear sight. Action has been custom tuned for cowboy action shooting, featuring a notably lightened hammer and trigger pull. Matching S#s are present on the frame, as well as on the left side of the trigger guard and rear grip strap, beneath the grip panel. Matching assembly # "941" is present on the frame and loading gate. Cyl. is numbered "942". CONDITION: frame and loading gate retain the majority of their original factory case colored finish, showing some areas of dulling/fading to the case colors. Blued parts retain the majority of their original factory finish, showing a few spots of light to mild edge wear, with some light superficial handling marks present overall. Near mirror bore, exhibiting what appears to be some streaks of hardened grease, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics with smooth action and tight lock up. Grips show scattered superficial marks and minor impressions, but otherwise remain sound. An attractive cowboy action tuned second generation Colt Single Action Army revolver.
