Out of the total production of approximately 73,000 Revolvers, page 56 of "COLT SINGLE-ACTION REVOLVER HANDBOOK 1955-1975" By Don Wilkerson states that only 4,096 of the early high flat top hammer / fixed firing pin variation were produced in this cal. / configuration. Matching numbers on side of grip frame, trigger guard frame & inside grips. Cyl. front marked with 3 digit assembly number "288" and no S# which is correct for this period of mfg. Cyl. rear marked with Rampant Colt logo. Inside loading gate marked with assembly # "288". Blued & case hardened finish. 2 Piece checkered hard rubber Rampant Colt grips. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Matching numbered factory black box with proper end label. Included are warranty card, handling instructions, cleaning brush, original $125.00 sales receipt dated Dec. 13, 1956 listing original owner, Walter Pommerenke. Obituary for Walter Pomerenke.
