Cal. 38. S# 95468. Standard configuration 1877 double action, 6" barrel, blue and case colored finish, 2-line Hartford address, "COLT DA 38". Fine factory ivory grips with raised relief carved monogram "WPC" Manufactured 1893. NOTE: Email from Colt Archives confirming factory letter states: 38 Cal. 6" bbl. Blue finish. Type of stocks not listed. Sold to Thorsen & Cassidy, Chicago, Il. And shipped to John Mentrop Son & Co. 1 Gun in shipment on February 7, 1894. Factory letter will be forwarded to buyer upon it's arrival. CONDITION: excellent overall, retaining virtually all blue and case colors on frame & barrel, cylinder retains over 80% bright blue. Factory ivory grips are well fit with smooth toned patina. Mechanically fine, shiny rifled bore. PROVENANCE: Martin Lane Historic & Western Americana Lifetime Collection. (01-28167/JS).
