Lot 3357 FIRST GENERATION COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY BISLEY

MODEL REVOLVER. Cal. 38 WCF. S# 320232. Bbl. 4 3/4". Single Action Army Bisley Model revolver mfg. by Colt in 1911. Left side of the bbl. is marked "(BISLEY MODEL) 38 W.C.F.", with Colt's 2-line address marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with Colt's 2-line patent information, followed by the encircled Rampant Colt logo. Frame, loading gate, and hammer exhibit a case colored finish, with remaining metal components exhibiting a blue finish. Trigger exhibits a nitre blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt checkered brown hard rubber grips. Standard SAA pattern blade front sight and frame notched rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, trigger guard, and rear grip strap. Grips are matching via a hand inscribed "0232" on the interior of the panels. Matching assembly # "292" is present on the frame and loading gate. CONDITION: metal components retain traces of their original factory finishes in protected areas, with the balance having worn to a mottled gray patina, showing scattered spots/patches of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting. Bore exhibits scattered spots and patches of mild to moderate pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, with tight lock up. Grips show mild smoothing and scattered superficial handling marks, with the left grip exhibiting a repaired break at the center of the panel. (25-5451/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
