Lot 3356 FIRST GENERATION COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY BISLEY

MODEL REVOLVER. Cal. 38 WCF. S# 313362. Bbl. 4 3/4". First Generation Single Action Bisley Model revolver mfg. by Colt in 1910. Left side of the bbl. is marked "38 W.C.F.", with Colt's 2-line mfg. information marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with Colt's 2-line patent information, followed by the encircled Rampant Colt logo. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt checkered brown hard rubber grips. Interior of grips are etched "F.E.C". Ground down blade front sight with standard SAA frame notched rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame and trigger guard. Rear grip strap is mismatched. Frame and loading gate assembly #s do not match. CONDITION: metal components retain traces of their original blue and case colored finish, with the balance having faded to a mottled gray patina, exhibiting scattered spots of mild to moderate pitting overall. Relatively bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots and small patches of moderate pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Action is missing a "click" when cycled, but otherwise functions appropriately with some cyl. play. Grips show heavy smoothing and scattered superficial handling marks, but otherwise remain sound.
