Lot 3321 EXTREMELY RARE & HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER DOCUMENTED
FIRST GEN. 4" COLT STOREKEEPER'S MODEL SAA REVOLVER. Cal. 45 Colt. S# 204829. Bbl. 4" ejectorless with blade front sight and 2 line bbl. address. Exceptionally rare and seldom seen with this degree of original finish. "THE OFFICIAL RECORD OF THE COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER" By Don Wilkerson and Carol Wilkerson states "just under 600 ejector-less Single Action Army revolvers were produced in all calibers from 1882 to the 1930's. Survey of serial numbers 1-164100 shows a total of 70 revolvers mfg. with a 4" bbl. and blued finish. Proper 2 line bbl. address. Left side of frame has 2 line patent date and Rampant Colt in circle. Blued bbl, 6 shot fluted cyl. and grip frame. Case hardened frame & hammer. Replacement smooth white grips; right panel has raised relief carved steer head. CONDITION: good overall, a higher condition example than typically found. Bbl., cyl. & grip frame retain 30% original blue, fading to gray / brown patina. Case hardened frame & hammer exhibit 30% original case colors. Metal parts exhibit and even light freckling with age. All screw heads except grip screw are crisp. Very good grip is slightly undersized with only a few scattered light handling marks. Grip has acquired a pleasing yellow patina with age. Good bore retains strong rifling with scattered spots of light pitting. A very nice example of the seldom encountered Sheriff's / Storekeeper's Model. (25-6046/BH). CURIO. $16,000-24,000.
