ACTION ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 45 LC. S# 35871. Bbl. 4 3/4". Single Action Army revolver mfg. by Colt in 1877. Top of the replacement bbl. exhibits a partially legible Colt 2-line address. Left side of the frame is marked with Colt's 3-line patent information. Left side of the trigger guard is marked "45 CAL". Cyl. exhibits a nickel plated finish. Frame is mounted with a 1-piece plain wood grip. Recontoured and thinned blade front sight with frame notched rear sight. Bullseye ejector rod head. Bbl. has been shortened at one time. Matching numbers are present on the frame, trigger guard, and rear grip strap. Cyl. is numbered "6148" on the side. Bbl. is unnumbered. Cyl. base pin has been flattened on the top of the head. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: consignor invoice. CONDITION: metal components have faded to a mottled gray patina, showing scattered spots of light to mild pitting overall. Cyl. retains trace to fair amounts of its period nickel finish. Hammer retains traces of bluing, showing a patch of light to mild pitting on either side. Bore exhibits consistent mild to moderate pitting, retaining mostly intact worn rifling throughout. Action is worn, missing 1 click. Grip shows overall wear, scattered handling marks and impressions, as well as a few chips. (01-28193/MLW). ANTIQUE. $1,800-2,700.
