Cal. 44-40. S# 105752. Bbl. 5 1/2". Single Action Army Frontier Six Shooter revolver mfg. by Colt. Left side of the bbl. exhibits an acid etched "COLT. FRONTIER. SIX. SHOOTER" panel with Colt's single line address marked across the top. Left side of the black powder frame is marked with Colt's 3-line patent information. Left side of forward trigger guard web is marked "44.C.F." with "44" stamped on the underside of the bbl. Frame, hammer, and loading gate exhibit a case color hardened finish, with remaining metal components exhibiting a blue finish. Barrel, ejector rod housing, and cyl. exhibits a high-quality, reapplied blue finish. Trigger, cyl. base pin, ejector rod, frame screws, and grip screw are nitre blued. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt checkered brown hard rubber grips. Standard SAA pattern blade front sight and frame notched rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, cyl., bbl., and grip straps. Grips are unnumbered. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Colt factory letter stating: "Serial Number: 105752/ Caliber: .44/40/ Barrel Length: 5 1/2"/ Finish: Blue/ Type of Stocks: Rubber/ Shipped to: Hartley & Graham/ Address: New York NY/ Date of Shipment: August 4, 1884/ Number of Same Type Guns in Shipment: 2". CONDITION: action retains good to large amounts of its original case color hardened finish, exhibiting some areas of vibrant coloring, with areas of fading to gray patina. Blue parts retain large amounts of their original finish, showing areas of wear fading to gray patina. Metal components show areas with varying degrees of cleaning striations overall. Front grip strap retains a mostly gray patina with the trigger guard showing more prevalent cleaning marks. Bore exhibits consistent light pitting and some scattered spots of moderate pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics with tight cyl. lockup. Grips show smoothing and some scattered marks from handling and storage, with the left panel exhibiting a chip on the interior at the bottom left corner of the butt.
