ARMY REVOLVERS. 1) Cal. 45 Colt. S# 319334. Bbl. 6 9/16". Single Action Army revolver mfg. by Colt in 1911. Left side of the bbl. is marked with a hand engraved "45 COLT", with Colt's 2-line address hand engraved across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with Colt's 2-line patent information, followed by the encircled Rampant Colt logo. Frame and cyl. exhibit contemporary cattle brand style engraving and foliate motifs on a stippled background. Recoil shield is engraved with a side view of a lions head and mane. Bbl. features cattle brand and foliate scrollwork on a stippled background, with a steer head engraved on either side towards the muzzle. Ejector rod housing, rear grip strap, and trigger guard feature matching pattern foliate scrollwork. Metal components exhibit a contemporary nickel plated finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece aftermarket natural white grips. Standard SAA pattern blade front sight and frame notched rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame, trigger guard, and rear grip strap. 2) Cal. 45 Colt. S# 284503. Bbl. 6 9/16". Single Action Army revolver mfg. by Colt in 1906. Left side of the bbl. is marked with a hand engraved "45 COLT", with Colt's 2-line address hand engraved across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with Colt's 2-line patent information, followed by a partially enclosed hand engraved Rampant Colt logo. Frame and cyl. exhibit contemporary cattle brand style engraving and foliate motifs on a stippled background. Recoil shield is engraved with a side view of a lions head and mane. Bbl. features cattle brand and foliate scrollwork on a stippled background, with a steer head engraved on either side towards the muzzle. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: contemporary wood display case featuring a red fabric lining and a reproduction Colt label on the interior of the lid. CONDITION: revolvers retain virtually all of their reapplied nickel finish, showing some spots of hardened grease and some superficial handling marks, with some spots of pitting present beneath the finish. Good bores retaining worn rifling throughout. Gun 1) Proper manual mechanics with stiff hammer pull. Gun 2) worn action, missing 1 click, and showing some cyl. play. Grips on both guns show a light patina with scattered superficial handling marks. Case shows some superficial handling marks, but otherwise remains sound. (25-1204 & 25-1205/MLW).
