Lot 3285 ATTRACTIVE & INTERESTING CASED & SILVER PLATED

R.F. ENEWOLD 22 LR CONVERSION COLT SAA REVOLVER INSCRIBED TO FAY A. BROWN. Cal. 22 LR. S#10344. Bbl. 5 /2" with altered front sight. This handsome revolver started out as a U.S. Cavalry revolver and later converted to Artillery configuration as remnants of non matching S# appear on trigger guard frame. Much later, revolver converted by Reno, NV gunsmith & collector R.F. Enewold.to 22 LR. Left side of frame bears U.S. marking with "K" inspection on bottom of trigger guard frame. Revolver features full coverage intertwining foliate scroll engraving over fine punch dot background. Top of bbl is finely stippled. "V" on left side recoil shield formerly attributed to Wilbur Glahn. Left side of bbl. marked "R.F. ENEWOLD. Original bbl. & cyl. sleeved to 22 LR. Backstrap engraved "Fay A. Brown". Fay A. Brown was enlisted in the Kansas National Guard "E" Company, 2nd Kansas Infantry from 1912-1916 and later Sheriff for Reno County Kansas from 1927-1931. Entire revolver is silver plated. Ejector rod & hammer have been modified & for 22 LR. 2 Piece smooth white grips with Rampant Colt medallions. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: hinged glass top compartmentalized oak presentation case containing 3 full boxes of collectible Remington Kleanbore ammo, cleaning rod, screwdriver, multitool & key. Contemporary State of Kansas Sheriff's Badge marked "SHERIFF / FAY BROWN / RENO COUNTY, KANSAS". CONDITION: very good overall retaining 95% silver finish with high edge & muzzle wear plus scattered small spots of light oxidation. silver beginning to tarnish with age.
