Cal. 45 LC. S# 98072. Bbl. shortened to 5 1/2". Frame is numbered "98072". Trigger guard is numbered "41773". Bbl. is numbered "6545". Cyl. and backstrap are unnumbered. Left side of frame has standard patent date markings followed by "US". Bottom of frame has "D.F.C." (David F. Clark) cartouche. Bottom of backstrap is stamped "P". Black powder frame. 6-shot fluted cyl. with later style ejector head. 1-piece walnut grip. CONDITION: metal has a worn gray appearance with weakened markings showing small dents on breech end of bbl. and cyl. Sanded and refinished grip shows heavy wear with dents and marks. Left panel has weakly visible outline of the cartouche. Sound mechanics. Lightly pitted bore retains intact rifling. (01-27792/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,500.
